• The 1941 Parade was the final Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade to be held before its hiatus due to World War II.
• The Santa Claus balloon collapsed due to a leak, which lost helium, and resulted in his removal.
• This was also the last parade to be held on the fifth Thursday of November, as President Franklin D. Roosevelt would sign a law on December 26 that year declaring that the holiday Thanksgiving would now be celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in order for early Christmas shopping to begin.
