The 24th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was held on November 23, 1950, in New York City and broadcast to viewers live on NBC radio and television stations that same day from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. EST. The lineup featured six giant helium balloons, 15 floats, 11 marching bands, 25 comedy acts, and the one-and-only Santa Claus.
