The 36th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was held on November 22, 1962 in New York City, beginning at 9:15 a.m., and was shown to viewers live on NBC that same day from 11 a.m. to noon. It was hosted by Bud Palmer and Chris Schenkel. The lineup featured five giant helium balloons, 21 floats, 12 marching bands, and the one-and-only Santa Claus.
