The 44th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was held on November 26, 1970, in New York City and was broadcast to viewers live on NBC that same day from 9:30 a.m. to noon EST. It was hosted by Lorne Greene, Betty White, and Joe Garagiola. The lineup featured nine giant helium balloons, 14 floats, 14 marching bands, six performance groups, a host of musical stars, and the one-and-only Santa Claus.
