The 66th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was held on November 26, 1992 in New York City, and shown to viewers live on NBC that same day from 9 a.m. to noon EST, with the broadcast being hosted by Willard Scott and Katie Couric. Participating celebrities included the likes of Michael Feinstein, Shari Lewis, Mac Davis, Cheech Martin, Regina Belle and Peabo Bryson.

Overview[]

Rain poured down on the streets of NYC on Thanksgiving 1992. But, with an all-star list of giant character balloons, many different creative and colorful floats, and lots of musical entertainment, the 1992 Macy's Parade showed that no rain could stop this parade. Goofy got festive for the holidays as he wore a Santa suit, being the parade's only new giant character balloon that year, while Garfield returned to the lineup, leading the parade after a two-year absence.

Amongst the performers, hip-hop duo Kriss Kross preformed their 1992 mega hit "Jump" on the YMCA's 140th Birthday Celebration float, recording artist Shanice preformed her 1992 mega hit "I Like Your Smile" on the Big Apple, a group of Girl Scouts appeared on the Garden float accompanied with Captain Planet, and the characters of Beauty and the Beast appeared on the new Disney Fantasy Castle float.
