This is the second pre-1994 Parade that did not feature the Radio City Rockettes welcoming the Parade into Herald Square. Instead, the Broadway cast of Kiss Me, Kate heralded the Parade into Herald Square.
Akin to the previous year, the Wild Thing balloon failed to make an appearance; this time, as a result of faulty inflation chambers.
