The 80th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was held on November 23rd, 2006, in New York City, and shown to viewers live on NBC that same day from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. EST. It was hosted by Matt Lauer, Meredith Vieira, and Al Roker. Participating celebrities included Julie Andrews, The Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Renée Fleming, Darlene Love, and Barry Manilow.

  1. John Tartaglia was initially scheduled to appear on the brand-new Doodlebug float. However, the float broke down and was sidelined just before reaching Columbus Circle. As a result, Tartaglia rode on the Rocking Horse toy float for the rest of the route.
