The 83rd Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was held on November 26, 2009 in New York City, and shown to viewers live on NBC that same day from 9 a.m. to noon EST, being hosted by Matt Lauer, Meredith Vieira and Al Roker. The lineup featured 15 giant helium character balloons, 35 novelty/ornament balloons, balloonheads and balloonicles, 24 floats, 10 marching bands, 1,500 cheerleaders, dancers, singers and performers, 800 clowns, a host of celebrity performers, and the one-and-only Santa Claus.
