Trivia[]
- The 1932 Parade marked the last year of Macy's Balloon Race after an accident involving student pilot Annette Gibson. Gibson's plane became entangled with the Tom-Cat balloon and nearly crashed, before being quickly saved by her flying instructor. Because of the incident, and another accident that occurred the year before, Macy's made the decision to forego the short-lived tradition.
- 1932 was the only time that Santa Claus led the procession, heralding in the event aboard the Herald Square Express.
