The Beach Boys are an American rock band that was formed in Hawthorne, California, in 1961. They are one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful bands of all time, selling over 100 million records worldwide. They helped legitimize popular music as a recognized art form and influenced the development of music genres and movements such as psychedelia, power pop, progressive rock, punk, alternative, and lo-fi. Some of the band's classic hits include "Surfin' U.S.A.", "I Get Around", "Fun, Fun, Fun", "Good Vibrations", "Dance, Dance, Dance", and "Wouldn't It Be Nice".
History with the Macy's Parade[]
The Beach Boys only appeared in The 79th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2005. They were featured on the American Classic Malt Shop float and performed "Little Saint Nick" at Herald Square.
The band's variety of music can later be heard during the performance of The Varsity Spirit Cheerleaders at The 84th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2010.
