The Cadets, formerly known as the Holy Name Cadets, the Garfield Cadets and the Cadets of Bergen County were a Drum and Bugle Corps based in Erie, Pennsylvania. The Corps was one of the founding members of Drum Corps International and were one of the oldest currently operating Drum Corps in America. The musical ensemble comprised of 165 musicians and color guard performers between the ages of 17 and 21. The corps currently has a total of nine titles, all claimed in 1983, 1984, 1985, 1987, 1990, 1993, 1998, 2000 (in a tie with the Cavaliers), 2005, and their most recent title in 2011. The corps remained inactive before filing for bankruptcy in April 2024.

History with the Macy's Parade[]

The Cadets first made their parade debut in the 1961 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade as the Garfield Cadets. They would return three years later in 1964. The band wouldn't appear again for the past four decades until they made their grand return to to the lineup in 2005 in celebration of their eighth DCI title and them holding the record for the highest score in DCI history.
