The Magical World of Mother Goose is an original Macy’s falloon creation that appeared in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
The Magical World of Mother Goose made its debut in the 1991 Macy’s Parade, featuring Mother Goose herself sitting in a turreted tower with a storybook in hand. Below, the stories came to life as her nursery rhyme friends did their own legendary things; Little Bo Peep looked for her sheep, Little Miss Muffet sat on her tuffet, Old King Cole was a merry old soul as he called for his Fiddlers Three, and Little Boy Blue blew his horn.
The focal point of the falloon was a three-story tall inflatable Humpty Dumpty (created by Raven Aerostar), who swayed back and forth on his wall. Adding to the spectacle was a stone bridge with a running creek, and a field full of flowers. Later additions to the float included costumed characters of the Pied Piper, the Queen Bee, the Ugly Duckling, and Honey Bear.
In December 1992, the Humpty Dumpty cold-air inflatable from the float appeared, aptly, on top of a wall at Disney’s MGM Studios for Macy’s New York Christmas, a limited-time event that brought the magic of an NYC Christmas to Orlando.
The falloon was retired following its appearance in the 1998 Parade and made a total of eight appearances. Although costumes of the nursery rhyme characters seen on the float still exist and are intermittently in the Parade lineup as special characters.
