History with the Macy's Parade[]
The Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps Marching Band made its Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade debut in the reimagined 2020 Parade, celebrating the group's 40th anniversary milestone. The group was selected to represent the New York City Pride March; one of many events that was cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in New York City.
The group was originally scheduled to appear alongside the Macy's Pride Stars novelty balloons, but the balloons were later cut from the line of march in early-November 2020. For the LGBAC's appearance in the television-only Parade, the group performed a rendition of the hit song, "Dancing Queen," complete with a blast of rainbow-colored confetti following the group's performance.
The Band returned to the Parade's line of march for the 2022 Parade.
