The Red Hot Mamas were a community service oriented, musical/comedy, performance organization that entertained audiences from 1991 to 2021. The group is composed of women with a Genuine Zest for Life, a Mama, Grandmama, or even a Great Grandmama. On December 31st 2021, the organization officially disbanded at the behest of one of the founding members Mikki Stevens who was going through serious health issues that led to the decision.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
Throughout their time, The Red Hot Mamas have made three appearances in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
They first appeared in 2005 dressed in Flamboyant Holiday Glamour with a performance titled "A Nutty Nut Nutcracker". They next appeared in 2014, where they performed Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It". They returned for a third and last time in 2017 and for that year, they performed "Gimmie Some Lovin" at Herald Square.
