There was an Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe is a popular English language nursery rhyme.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
The Float based off the rhyme debuted in the 1965 Parade. It featured the Woman's brown shoe house, decorated with flowers, and a stork next to green house's chimney. It got Removed in the 1966 Parade after it started. The float was retired after the 1967 Parade. A new version debuted 2 years later in 1969, recycled from the 1965 float. The float once again featured the old woman in the shoe, but with a modern look. The house was repainted to white, and the flowers were removed. The float would become a crowed-pleaser until 1976, when it was retired from the parade. In 1977, the float was sold at an auction for $15,000 to a Texas amusement park. The current whereabouts of the float is unknown.
