History with the Macy's Parade[]

TheBoyFriend

The float based on the movie The Boy Friend featured Tommy Tune at the 1971 Parade.

Tommy Tune first appeared in the 1971 Parade, singing "Won't You Charleston With Me" with some flamboyant dancers on a float based off his starring film The Boy Friend. The float retired after that year's precession.

Tune would next perform with the Broadway cast of Seesaw at Herald Square during the 1973 Parade.

He would later appear with his co-star Twiggy on The Magical Carousel float at the 1983 Parade. They both performed "Little Jazz Bird" from the Broadway show My One and Only.

Tommy's fourth and most recent spotlight appearance at Macy's was during the 2005 Parade. Riding on Animal Planet's "Animal Wonders" float, he was dressed as the title character from the US national tour of Doctor Dolittle and he sang "Talk to the Animals".
