The Toon Balloon-Abration is a specialty float from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

History with the Macy's Parade

The Toon Balloon-Abration float first appeared in the 2001 Parade, celebrating the Parade's 75th anniversary. The float was recycled from Continental Airlines' Flights of Fancy float, and featured a large, gold-trimmed star in the center of the float, reading "75 Parades." Trailing behind the larger-than-life star is a golden trail of stardust, accented with smaller white stars.

Escorting the float down the Parade route were participants dressed as party hats and slices of birthday cake. These costumes would later be repurposed into the Birthday Party Clowns, who still make appearances as of 2019.

After the float's maiden appearance in 2001, it was repurposed into a performance stage for the 2002 edition of Macy's Flower Show, where it served as a stage for the show's Petacular Fair activities. For this appearance, the '75 Parades' logo was removed, and replaced by letters reading 'Macy's Petacular'. The former logo was used as a decoration on the walls of the former Macy's Parade Studio from 2002 until 2010.
