Tower Heist is a 2011 heist comedy movie starring Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy. Directed by Brett Ratner, the film follows employees of a luxury apartment complex as they discover they've fallen victim to their wealthy employer's Ponzi scheme, later conspiring against him and breaking into his apartments while avoiding FBI agents. The film was released on November 1, 2011 and grossed $152.9 million.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
In a scene at the film's climax, a burglary takes place during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, as a van barrels down the middle of the procession. Some footage for the movie was filmed during the 2010 Parade, and featured cameos from celebrities such as Joan Rivers. Segments of the Parade were restaged later that November for further filming.
