The Turkey Tech Players & Sports Fans (formerly the Turkey Tech Football Gobblers) are a clown unit from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
The Turkey Tech Football Gobblers made their first appearance in the 2011 Macy's Parade. The giddy gridiron group features an array of clowns from Turkey Tech University playing a traditional game of Thanksgiving Day football. The Gobblers strut down the Parade route annually with their own uniforms, turkey hats, cheerleaders carrying horns of plenty, human water kegs and the team's own mascot, the Turkey Tech Gobbler.
The clown unit was featured in a special pre-Parade segment sponsored by Allstate during the NBC broadcast of the 2021 Parade. In it, Gobbler is challenged to kick a football through a football pitch (both of which appeared via augmented reality); if he made it, Allstate would donate $10,000 to the general scholarship funds of the Allstate Good Hands program.
The Turkey Tech Players & Sports Fans continue to make appearances in the lineup as of 2022, always scoring a touchdown with spectators.
