The USA Baton Twirling All-Stars was a performance group created exclusively for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, featuring some of the best baton twirlers from across the United States. Each twirler was selected based on their baton twirling abilities and past achievements, raising a collective ~$300,00 in travel expenses.[1] The group was directed by David Mindlin, president of Baton Twirling Network, Inc., and former U.S. Twirling Association director Karen Cammer.[1][2]
History with the Macy's Parade[]
The USA Baton Twirling All-Stars made their only appearance in the 2008 Parade. The group wore snazzy red outfits with golden cummerbunds, getting into the swing of things with number set to Ella Fitzgerald's and Louis Armstrong's "It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing). The performance was choreographed by KeriAnn Lynch, a former Orange Girl at Syracuse University.[2]
