The United States Postal Service (USPS; also known as the Post Office, U.S. Mail, or Postal Service) is an "independent establishment" of the executive branch of the United States federal government responsible for providing postal service in the United States, including its insular areas and associated states. It is one of the few government agencies explicitly authorized by the United States Constitution.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
The United States Postal Service first partnered with the Macy's Parade team in 2003 to help produce their brand-new float, the "Spirit of America". This float featured a majestic 18-foot tall golden eagle spreading his wings as it flies down the Parade route. Below, various stamps from places all around the world show the internationality of the USPS. The float made six consecutive appearances until 2008 when the float was retired. The badge & the body of the Eagle still exists at the Float Warehouse as of 2014.
