Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Wiki

The World Wrestling Federation (WWF), now known as World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), is an American entertainment company that deals primarily in professional wrestling matches publicly branded as "sports entertainment." It was founded in 1980 by Vince McMahon and hosts what has since become the largest wrestling promotion in the world, holding over 500 events annually which are broadcast in over 150 countries. The company's wrestling matches are known for being entertainment-based, driven by storylines, scripting, and choreography; which often include moves that can put performers at risk of injury if not performed correctly.

History with the Macy's Parade[]

WWF was first represented in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1994 when several of their best-known wrestlers, including the British Bulldog, Razor Ramon, Lex Luger, Doink and Dink, Paul Bearer, and the Undertaker appeared as special guest stars on the Big Apple float.

6 years later, in the 2001 Parade, the WWF would furnish a float entitled "Get REAL". The float was constructed to resemble a real-life wrestling arena, with a full-size wrestling ring, special lighting, and a Titantron-type video screen, making it the first-ever float in Parade history to use a real-time television screen. This effect would later be used for 2014's Cracker Jack float. A large American flag was hung above the float, honoring the fallen heroes from the September 11th attacks.

The float made another appearance in 2002, under a new name - RAW Energy, as it promoted the Raw brand's 10th Anniversary. Other than the change in logos, the float itself remained untouched. The float was retired after it's second appearance.
