Yo Gabba Gabba! is an American live action/puppet educational television show starring five costumed toys coming to life and their friend DJ Lance Rock. The series premiered on Nick Jr. on August 20, 2007 and ended on November 12, 2015. There is a single topic in each episode such as "Adventure", "Friends", and "Dance", through songs and short storylines in the half-hour program. Additionally, the show teaches children life and social skills, such as sharing and trying new things.

History with the Macy's Parade[]

In 2009, a float based on the Nick Jr. show "Yo Gabba Gabba!" debuted in the 83rd Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, as one of the only three new floats that year. It was recycled from last year's Harajuku Girls float. The float's debut was to promote their first live show called "There A Party In My City!" and it houses the six main characters, Muno the Red Cyclops, Foofa the Pink Flower Bubble, Brobee the Little Green Monster, Toodee the Blue Cat-Dragon, Plex the Magic Yellow Robot, and DJ Lance Rock. The float also features many items from Gabbaland, the main location of the show. A giant sculpture of DJ Lance Rock's iconic Boombox serves as the centerpiece of this float. Despite their live shows continuing on until 2014, the float was omitted from the lineup after its only appearance, and was later recycled into the KISS Pep Rally float in 2014. With the show’s cancellation in 2015, as well as it now being seen as outdated and unpopular in the eyes of many, it is unlikely Yo Gabba Gabba! will ever be represented again. Despite this, the Boombox of the float is still on display at the Macy's Parade Studio to this day.
